- Self regulates their emotions through bullying, tough online learning challenges, body image issues, friendship problems, dating, and family conflicts.
- Identify faulty beliefs and learn how to become more independent and positive-minded.
- Increase their self-esteem to make healthy friends, feel good about themselves, and strive for goals and leadership roles.
Children and adolescent group therapy involve one or two therapists working with a select small group of clients. Groups are often designed to target specific problems such as anxiety, depression, improving social skills, or helping clients cope with a range of challenges such as low-self esteem, emotional regulation, shyness, or a recent loss.
In individual therapy, a child or adolescent works with a therapist on a one-on-one basis. Individual therapy aims to alleviate internal distress, improve relationships, and raise a client’s functioning at school and other endeavors. individual treatment nearly always involves play/games and often includes artwork. Individual therapy includes a parent guidance component.
